The Cleveland Browns have a big hole in their lineup in the wake of running back Nick Chubb’s injury. However, their running game shouldn’t suffer much at all thanks to two very capable backs able to fill the void, but it’s Kareem Hunt who figures to have the bigger fantasy impact.
Fantasy Football analysis: Browns RBs Kareem Hunt, D’Ernest Johnson
After losing Chubb in last week’s game, Hunt rolled up 71 yards on 11 touches against the Cowboys. He also scored twice. And it’s not like he was toiling in obscurity before that. Hunt had 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns (one of those a receiving score) in Week 2.
Johnson ran the ball 13 times last week for 95 yards, instantly putting him on fantasy radars. And because the Browns are a run-first team—and they have the offensive line to do that successfully—they find plenty of work for two running backs.
This week’s game against the Colts is a little tougher. Indianapolis has one of the NFL’s best defenses right now, and they’ve been effective at keeping opposing running backs in check. And while the production level might not be as high this week, Hunt is just too talented to leave on the bench Johnson has value too, especially at just $4,700 in DraftKings leagues.
