What to do with Raheem Mostert, Jerick McKinnon in Week 5 fantasy football

We go over Raheem Mostert, Jerick McKinnon’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the 49ers Week 5 matchup against the Dolphins.

The case for Raheem Mostert

Game status: Mostert is ACTIVE for Week 5. It remains to be seen how his role will look in his return, but the Dolphins are a defense worth starting him against.

The San Francisco 49ers had a familiar face back in the mix at practice this week. Running back Raheem Mostert was on the field with his team for the first time since Week 2. A date with the Dolphins this week is good news for the fantasy outlook for both Jerick McKinnon and Mostert, If he does play this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: RBs Raheem Mostert, Jerick McKinnon

As of Friday afternoon, we still didn’t have confirmation that Mostert would be in uniform this week. However, the fact that he’s practicing again does send an encouraging signal. If he does play, he could be in for a productive day against a Dolphins that’s been generous to opposing rushers.

McKinnon will be in the mix too. He played a huge role in last week’s game, racking up 97 total yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Eagles. If Mostert can’t play, look for McKinnon to be a featured part of the offense. And if they’re both on the field, McKinnon should still get enough work to make an impact in fantasy, especially if Mostert is limited in how much of the load he can carry in his first game back.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Mostert and McKinnon.
