What to do with Keenan Allen in Week 5 fantasy football

We go over Keenan Allen’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Chargers Week 5 matchup against the Saints on MNF.

The Los Angeles Chargers face the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football to close out Week 5, and recent developments suggest this could turn into a shootout. Justin Herbert has thrown for at least 290 yards in each of his three starts, and is coming off an impressive three touchdown performance in Week 5. He’s secured the starting job and has helped upgrade the Chargers fantasy options.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers WR Keenan Allen

Allen is the top target on this team by a good margin. Herbert and Tyrod Taylor have targeted him 48 times, while Hunter Henry is second at 27 targets. Mike Williams has only 14 targets, but injuries have slowed him down. He is questionable this week with a hamstring injury after missing last week.

Whether or not Williams plays, Allen is a WR2 option you should start week in and week out. He has WR1 upside, but he faces a fairly solid Saints defense this week. New Orleans has given up the fifth fewest points to wide receivers through four weeks. It’s not enough to say you should bench Allen, but in the smallest of eight-team leagues, you might have some better options.
