Game status: Deebo Samuel is ACTIVE for Week 5.

Game day update: Samuel “should be good” for Sunday’s game, according to Adam Schefter.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel made his season debut last week against the Eagles, after a foot injury forced him to miss the start of the season. This week, he was sidelined on Thursday with an illness, and he’s listed as questionable on the Week 5 injury report. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan sounded optimistic that Samuel will be able to play this week.

Fantasy impact: Deebo Samuel injury

It’s not a done deal yet, though. Samuel will have to get checked out and be cleared one more time before he can rejoin the team (even though it’s not COVID.) That means fantasy footballers will need to keep an eye on his status ahead of Sunday’s home game against the Dolphins.

Samuel caught three passes for 35 yards last week. If he does play on Sunday, he could benefit from starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo finally getting back in action after being sidelined by an ankle injury.
