Status update: The Saints are downgrading Michael Thomas to OUT for Monday Night Football, per Adam Schefter. The team released their official update and it says the downgrade is NOT injury related. This will be something to track.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is listed as questionable on the team’s Week 5 injury report. He was limited in practice this week, for the second week in a row, but he is expected to play when the Saints host the Chargers on Monday night.

Fantasy impact: Michael Thomas injury

Thomas hasn’t played since the season opener when his leg got rolled up on, causing the high ankle sprain that’s kept him off the field since then. Prior to leaving early in that one, he caught just three passes for 17 yards.

But don’t let that worry you. When Thomas is on the field for a full game, he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL. He’s coming off a monster year in 2019, when he finished with 1,725 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. It will be a huge relief to the Saints to have him back on the field, and fantasy owners can instantly slot him back into the top receiver spot in their lineups.
