With most of the Top 25 in action this week, there was little movement at the top, but plenty at the bottom of both polls.
The biggest climber is the Texas A&M Aggies, who ladder up ten spots in the AP Poll and nine in the Coaches Poll to be #11 in both samples. Their 41-38 win over the Florida Gators in a defense-free affair was their first Top 5 win under Jimbo Fisher in College Station. It also cost UF as well, who slid to #10 in the AP and #9 in the Coaches with the road defeat.
The Kansas State Wildcats check in for the first time at #22 in both polls after the 21-14 win over the TCU Horned Frogs. K-State lost to Arkansas State to open the season, but have won three in a row in the Big XII, and have a +7 turnover differential with two ranked wins.
But the biggest newcomer of the week is clearly the USC Trojans. With a passionate performance against... uh... themselves in practice??... Fight On is now #25 in the AP Poll and #24 in the Coaches despite not having played a game. What a way to impress the voters, Heritage Hall. This also might show that we shouldn’t put too much stock in any polling because 2020 is insane.
