Le’Veon Bell has been let go by the Jets. We break down the fantasy football implications.

UPDATE: Bell has signed with the Chiefs, per NFL Network.

The New York Jets and Le’Veon Bell have parted ways, as the team released their starting running back, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Bell and Adam Gase have never seen eye-to-eye and recently the team tried to trade him, but apparently were unable to unload his big contract.

With Bell gone, the Jets will have veteran Frank Gore and rookie La’mical Perine likely sharing work. Perine is the back to target in fantasy, but his upside will remain low until the Jets can turn things around offensively.

The bigger move for fantasy is Bell’s destination. Bell should have some more quality football in him and with the right team, he could see a significant increase in fantasy value. There are plenty of teams who will inquire, as Bell is still getting paid by the Jets and could probably be had for cheap to finish out the season.
