Tight end PPR rankings for Week 6 fantasy football

We take you through some of the best PPR tight ends going in Week 6 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

Final injury report

Out: Mo Alie-Cox (knee)
Doubtful:
Questionable: Noah Fant (ankle), Tyler Eifert (neck), Jordan Akins (ankle, concussion)

Friday AM update

Mo Alie-Cox and Tyler Eifert both remained DNPs on Thursday, which does not bode well for their chances of playing this Sunday. In other news, Eric Ebron was upgraded from DNP to full and Jonnu Smith was upgraded from DNP to limited. Both appear on track to play this Sunday.

Friday morning saw the Indianapolis Colts close their facility due to multiple positive Covid-19 tests. They are working to confirm those positives and figure out next steps. We’ll keep an eye out for more information on the game status and potential impact on Mo Alie-Cox, Jack Doyle, and Drew Sample this weekend.

Wednesday injury report

NFL teams returned to practice on Wednesday to begin on-field preparations for Week 6. The tight end position hasn’t been too bad of late. Mo Alie-Cox was added with a knee injury. He’s not a fantasy starter yet, but could turn into a bye week option in deeper leagues if he can get back on the field. Rob Gronkowski is a new addition to the injury report, but should be fine for Sunday. He is not yet a regular starting option, but he’s improving in Tampa.

DNP: Mo Alie-Cox (knee), Eric Ebron (hand), Tyler Eifert (neck), TE Jonnu Smith (quadricep)
Limited: Hayden Hurst (back), Richard Rodgers (neck), Noah Fant (ankle), Rob Gronkowski (shoulder)
Full: N/A

We had out usual tight end subjects finish at the top of the PPR fantasy rankings last week, as Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews and Darren Waller were 1-2-3. That’s good to see because we aren’t getting much from our sleeper tight ends this season.

Injury news

Noah Fant was getting close to returning last week, so should have a good chance to suit up against the Patriots.

Mo Alie-Cox is dealing with a knee injury. It’s hard to know how much that hurt him last week, as he went catchless, but Trey Burton is going to hurt Alie-Cox’s upside.

Bye weeks

Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers are all on their bye.

Darren Waller, Hunter Henry, Jared Cook and whoever Russell Wilson wants to throw to on any given Sunday, will all be napping on their couch this week. With so few viable fantasy tight ends, it’s going to be tough to find a high-upside replacement this week.

Streaming options

Irv Smith Jr., Vikings

Smith Jr. has a lot of ability, but hasn’t seen much work this year. But last week he got five targets and caught four for 64 yards. He also ran a pass route on 72.7 percent of the team’s pass plays, which is a big step up from his usual. We’ll see if it keeps up, but if it does, he gets a great matchup against the Falcons.

Trey Burton, Colts

Burton has taken over the lead tight end job for the Colts after returning from I.R. He’s seen five and six targets the last two weeks and faces a Bengals team that is seventh-worst in tight end yards allowed and sixth-worst in tight end receptions.
