Tale of the Tape for Brian Ortega vs. Korean Zombie

In a featherweight bout serving as the main event for UFC Fight Island 6, #2 Brian Ortego will meet #4 Chan Sung Jung in the octagon live this Saturday from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and also available on ESPN+.

Ortega was riding a six-fight win streak when he entered the ring with Max Holloway for the 135 lbs championship. Ortega was absolutely lit up by Holloway, who landed 290 significant strikes to Ortega’s 110. That fight was back in late 2018, and Ortega hasn’t fought in the UFC since.

He’s a strike-heavy combatant that rarely allows bouts to go the distance. With six wins and two losses, Ortega doesn’t have a UFC decision, with none of fights going the full allotted time. Averaging 4.07 significant strikes per minute, Ortega has a 33 percent strike accuracy and a 50 percent defense accuracy, taking 7.36 per minute.

He’ll be taking on the Chan “Korean Zombie” Sung Jung. The 33-year-old Sung Jung won both his bouts in 2019 via knockout from punches. With 4.58 significant strikes per minute, Sung Jung has an interesting resume. He’s taken down lightweight #3 Dustin Poirier in a featherweight bout and also has a title fight to name, losing a chance at the belt to Jose Aldo. Sung Jung is 6-4 in the UFC level.

Both will want this fight primarily on their feet, so expect punches to be throw. It’d be shocking to see this one go the distance.
