What to do with Alexander Mattison in Week 6 fantasy football

We go over Alexander Mattison’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Vikings Week 6 matchup against the Falcons.

Dalvin Cook or Alexander Mattison in Week 6?

Sunday AM update: The Vikings will be without right guard Dru Samia, while the Falcons will be without defensive end Takkarist McKinley. Mike Boone will be Alexander Mattison’s backup with Dalvin Cook out, although Ameer Abdullah and C.J. Ham could get a little bit of work. Mattison is a strong start in all formats.

The Minnesota Vikings will be without running back Dalvin Cook this week. He was ruled out on Friday as he’s still dealing with a groin injury suffered last week. That means third-year pro Alexander Mattison will play a featured role in Minnesota’s rushing attack on Sunday against the Falcons.

Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings RB Alexander Mattison

Mattison had a huge game in relief of Cook last week against Seattle. He rushed for 112 yards on 20 carries, adding another 24 with three receptions. The Boise State product has been one of the better handcuffs in fantasy since the Vikings drafted him in the third round last year. Powerful and elusive, Mattison could easily be a starter anywhere in the league. This week, with Cook hurt, he’s got the chance to ball out at home against the Falcons, who have allowed more than 120 rushing yards in three of their five games this season.
