In a bantamweight bout on the early preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 6, Said Nurmagomedov will take on Mark Striegl live from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+.

Nurmagomedov will open as the heavy favorite, and it’s for good reason as this is Striegl’s first UFC fight. While Striegl is 18-2 in the MMA with one no contest to his name, transitioning to this level is often difficult for rookies. Typically a featherweight, Striegl is also moving down a weight class. With 14 career submissions, he’ll be looking to make this a ground battle.

That’s not what Nurmagomedov will choose as a strategy, and he is 3-2 at the UFC level. Averaging 4.22 significant strikes per minute, he absorbs 2.34 but deflects 61 percent of strikes thrown at him. With a 13-2 MMA record, Nurmagomedov will have both the moneyline is his favor, and the public who are betting heavily he’ll be the winner.
