In a light heavyweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 6, Gadzhimurad Antigulov will take on Maxim Grishin live from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+.
Grishin is 36 years old, and will enter as the second-most favored fighter on the card. With a 30-8-2 resume he has just one UFC appearance, a loss to Marvin Tybura where he was dominated on the ground. With half of his MMA victories via knockout, it’s clear Grishin will want this bout being fought in the stand-up.
His opponent will not however. Antigulov is 20-7 in the MMA and 2-3 in the UFC, and averages 8.4 takedowns per 15 minutes and has had two first-round submissions. All five of his UFC fights have been won or lost before the end of the first round.
With an average fight time of 2:09, it’s be shocking to see this bout go the distance. But most aren’t betting on Antigulov, but he has a bigger chunk of the total amount being wagered which might indicate sharper action.
