The No. 13 Miami Hurricanes will look to get past their loss to the top-ranked Clemson Tigers when they host the Pitt Panthers on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Miami lost to Clemson 42-17 last week. It was fortunate to keep the game close in the first half as Clemson’s 61-yard field goal was blocked for a touchdown to make it a 21-10 game going into halftime. Yardage told the story as Clemson outgained Miami 550-210 in this game. D’Eriq King struggled throwing the ball, just 12 of 28 passing for 121 yards and two interceptions. He rushed for a touchdown and 84 yards.

Star Canes tight end and potential first round NFL pick Brevin Jordan is listed as questionable, so keep an eye on his status closer to game time.

Pitt started out the season 3-0 but are coming off a pair of one-point losses to NC State and Boston College. In the last game against the Eagles, Alex Kessman drilled a 58-yard field goal to put the game into overtime but missed an extra point in the first OT session to lose the game. The Panthers are so close to being 5-0 but unfortunately they head into this one on a two-game losing streak.

Miami on the last two games of this series including 16-12 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2019.

The Best Bet

This line is far too high. While Pitt has to be bummed about being so close to starting its season with five straight wins, Miami has to be going into this game in a letdown spot, realizing it is nowhere close to the level of Clemson after the game was hyped up all week. No matter the situation, Miami is not 10.5 points better than Pitt this season, so let’s take the Panthers.

Pick: Pitt +13
