Sunday AM Update: Teammate Julio Jones is good to go for Sunday’s matchup against the Vikings, which may decrease Hurst’s potential target share for the day. He’s projected for 8.2 points in half-PPR leagues on ESPN.
With the Atlanta Falcons in flux after head coach Dan Quinn was fired earlier in the week, it’s hard to know what to expect from a team that’s easily been the NFL’s most disappointing. One player we had high hopes for at the beginning of the season was tight end Hayden Hurst, but he’s been, for the most part, a bust too. Will that change this week?
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons TE Hayden Hurst
Hurst failed to break 10 yards in two of his last three outings. He had just eight yards on two catches last week against the Panthers. It doesn’t help that the Falcons offense has failed to hit 20 points in their last two games.
The only thing giving Hurst any fantasy value right now is that he still gets looks in the red zone, but Matt Ryan’s misfired on some of those attempts as well. The Vikings pass defense has been middle of the road against tight ends this year, which doesn’t help or hurt Hayden’s value going into this week’s game. It’s best to avoid him if you can.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Hayden Hurst.
