How the public is betting North Carolina vs. Florida State in Week 7

North Carolina will look to justify its No. 5 ranking with a road game against Florida State. Where is the money going ahead of Saturday night’s matchup?

The North Carolina Tar Heels enter Saturday night’s matchup with a ranking of No. 5 in the country as they take on the Florida State Seminoles.

Before we get to game time, let’s take a look at what has been happening from the betting public and where line movements have gone throughout the week.

All odds and info is provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point spread

North Carolina opened as eight-point favorites, and DraftKings has the Tar Heels checking in as 13-point favorites for a fairly significant line movement. North Carolina is receiving 68% of the bets in addition to 79% of the handle.

Is the public right? Yes. North Carolina is in the ballpark of what Miami and Notre Dame are talent-wise, and Florida State lost to those teams 52-10 and 42-26, respectively.

Over/Under

Sportsbooks opened this game with the point total at 64.5. Currently on DraftKings, it dropped half a point to 64. Despite the lack of line movement, there is a ton of action on the over. It is receiving 82% of the bets and 93% of the money.

Is the public right? With the amount coming in on the over, sportsbooks are going to be rooting against points, and that’s probably the right side. North Carolina shouldn’t have much problem scoring, but how many points can be expected from the Seminoles? Not enough for me to be taking that over.

Moneyline

North Carolina opened at -335 on the moneyline with Florida State at +260. Currently, the Tar Heels are at -455 on DraftKings, while Florida State is at +340. Eighty-five percent of bettors are siding with North Carolina on the moneyline with 87% of the handle.

Is the public right? North Carolina does not look like the No. 5 team in the country this season but they are 3-0, and Florida State has done nothing to show it’s not still a mess of a program this season. It would be stunning if the Tar Heels come out of this game with a loss.
