Florida Gators head coach Dan Mullen has tested positive for Covid-19.

An outbreak amongst the Florida football team that impacted more than 20 players was the reason the Gators game that was scheduled for October 17th with the LSU Tigers in Gainesville was rescheduled.

Mullen famously asked for 90,000 fans to be in “The Swamp” for their next home game before it was set for December 12th instead, despite the social distancing restrictions in place at the university.

The #10 Gators are 2-1 following a 41-38 loss to Texas A&M in College Station on October 10th despite being a five-point favorite on the road.

“I think Texas A&M, actually, they created a great atmosphere at the game, created an exciting atmosphere, you know?” Mullen said. “I thought they did a great job of doing that.”

The Gators are next scheduled to face the Missouri Tigers at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on October 31st. With the restrictions in place by the SEC, if Mullen tests negative between now and that game it is likely he’ll be on the sidelines for the game.
