What to do with Mike Davis in Week 6 fantasy football

We go over Mike Davis’ fantasy football outlook ahead of the Panthers Week 6 matchup against the Bears.

When will Christian McCaffrey return?

When Christian McCaffrey went on injured reserve earlier this season, nobody saw Mike Davis becoming one of the best running backs in the league, according to PFF.

But here we are, just three weeks after becoming a starter Davis has over 60 fantasy points and is averaging nearly five yards per carry.

Fantasy Football analysis: Panthers RB Mike Davis

This week Davis faces a difficult opponent in the Chicago Bears. The Bears rank solidly in the middle of the league in rush defense in terms of total yards allowed and yards per game. Those rankings are similar to the other team’s he’s started against so far this year, so it’s not crazy to expect a similar type of production from him this week.

Through three starts he’s gotten better and better each time out. He’s a legitimate threat through the air, with 30 catches, 207 yards and two touchdowns. That’s on top of his 219 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Bears defense gives up an average of 17.4 points per game, and solid backs like Davis have gotten up to 27 points against them. Davis has gotten 15, 17 and 21 points over the last three weeks.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Davis has gotten better each week since he’s become a starter and doesn’t tend to make big mistakes. Start him this week.
