Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. had a career high in yardage, while Kyle Rudolph caught just one pass in a 27-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
What should fantasy owners be doing with the Minnesota tight ends? Let’s dive in.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings TEs Kyle Rudolph, Irv Smith Jr.
Rudolph was targeted twice on Sunday and caught one pass for 10 yards. Smith Jr. hauled in four of five targets for 64 yards, which was second on the team only trailing Adam Thielen, who had 90 yards on the day.
Smith Jr. had just two receptions on the season coming into this game, and Rudolph has just seven receptions through five games. Minnesota does not throw the ball enough for two tight ends to have success in this offense on a consistent basis.
On Sunday, the Vikings will go up against the Atlanta Falcons, which have the second-to-last defense in the NFL at defending the pass in terms of yards per game.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Rudolph and Smith Jr. should not be entered into fantasy lineups on Sunday.
