How to handle Julian Edelman’s injury in Week 6 fantasy football

Julian Edelman is on the Patriots final injury report for Week 6. We break down what it means for fantasy football roster decisions.

Game status: Edelman is ACTIVE for Week 6.

Another week, another questionable designation for Julian Edelman. The New England Patriots’ weekly injury report can be as meaningless as a Bill Belichick presser, but the main takeaway here is that Edelman will play this week against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy impact: Patriots WR Julian Edelman

Edelman’s stats have suffered over his last two games. Last week, against the Chiefs, that was mostly due to the fact that the team was without quarterback Cam Newton. The game before that one, a win over the Raiders, he couldn’t get much going with Newton in the lineup, just a week after a massive 179-yard performance.

However, Newton is back in action this week, and that’s good news for Edelman’s fantasy prospects against a struggling, beat up Broncos secondary. There are no guarantees who’ll get the ball and how much from week to week in the Patriots offense—and we’ve only got four games to go on this season—but Edelman’s their most reliable receiver to keep the chains moving.
