The 2020 NBA Draft is set for November 18 after the 2019-20 NBA season finally finished up in the bubble in Orlando. As you may not remember, the Minnesota Timberwolves have the No. 1 overall pick in the draft after winning the lottery back in August. We’ll be ramping up our draft coverage with positional rankings. Here, we’ll be going over the top 10 point guard prospects for the 2020 NBA Draft.
The top of the PG class is highlighted by LaMelo Ball, who has the chance to go No. 1 overall to the T-Wolves in November. Ball, the brother of Lonzo Ball and son of LaVar Ball, comes from one of the more recognizable basketball families in our era. LaMelo translate as more of a combo-guard, but has the vision and skill set to become one of the best PGs in the NBA one day.
Behind Ball are a few intriguing prospects, one of my favorite being Tyrese Haliburton out of Iowa State. Haliburton just oozes athleticism and has the size you want in a PG in today’s NBA. He’s explosive to the basket and can shoot the ball from outside. Haliburton’s comp in the NBA would have to be Russell Westbrook coming out of school. The Cyclones stud has all the tools to become an All-Star.
