PGA Tour announces The Match III featuring Phil Mickelson, Charles Barkley vs. Stephen Curry, Peyton Manning

Phil is getting a bit of a handicap on this one.

The PGA Tour announced on Monday what has been long awaited. There will be a third iteration of The Match. The event will take place at Stone Canyon Golf Club in Arizona, and will go down on Friday, November 27th — the day after Thanksgiving.

Phil Mickelson will be competing, but Tiger Woods will not be taking part this time around, We get another round of interesting celebrities taking part though. Mickelson will pair with Charles Barkley, while Stephen Curry will pair with Peyton Manning. The format will be modified alternate shot match play.

The event will get going at 3 p.m. ET and air on TNT. There will once again be open mics and Cart Cam to liven up the event.

This version is titled The Match: Champions for Change. Money will be raised for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), “while raising awareness and spotlighting opportunities for diversity and equality in sports,” per the PGA Tour.
