Tale of the tape for Carlos Condit vs. Court McGee

Carlos Condit and Court McGee meet in a welterweight bout on the early preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 4. We break down the odds.

In the night’s first welterweight bout, Carlos Condit will take on Court McGee on the early preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 4, taking place this Saturday live in Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+.

Both fights are coming in with a ton of experience at the MMA level. Condit has 43 appearances in MMA and 30 wins, 12 of them coming in the UFC. He’s had two five-match win streaks that included an interim title victory over Nick Diaz. Now 36, Condit has solidified his UFC fighting style, and it’s one that includes quite a big of striking.

Not a great grappler, Condit has been submitted in three of his last four UFC fights. He’ll want this primarily on his feet as he averages 3.56 significant strikes per minute on 39 percent accuracy. He takes just 2.34 significant strikes and defends 57 percent of them. Condit is a polished UFC fighter, but having not won in the UFC since 2015, he’ll be hard to trust.

He’ll share the octagon with Court McGee. With a 20-9 MMA record, McGee is 8-8 in the UFC. He’s a strike-heavy fighter as well, throwing 4.86 significant strikes per minute on 35 percent accuracy. Also defending well, McGee is a bit more active grappler.

The 35-year-old, like Condit, is on the back half of his career and has just one UFC win since 2016. This one will be tough to predict, but an underdog on the moneyline, Condit may be the better bet with higher level experience in UFC.

Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Carlos Condit vs. Court McGee at UFC Fight Night on October 3.
