Heading into week four of the 2020/21 English Premier League season, there are four exciting matches lined up on Saturday, October 3 to kick off the weekend. With a couple of potential upsets looking mighty tempting, DraftKings Sportsbook still has the heavy hitters as the favorites but the public isn’t necessarily following the odds in every match.

Chelsea v. Crystal Palace, 7:30AM ET

Chelsea -240: 75% of handle, 78% of bets
Tie +375: 4% of handle, 7% of bets
Crystal Palace +650: 21% of handle, 15% of bets

After narrowly escaping a loss against West Brom last week thanks to a stoppage time equalizer, the general public has a little less faith in Chelsea this week as a surprising 15% of bets are going toward a Crystal Palace win. Chelsea also exited the EFL Cup earlier in the week after losing to Tottenham in penalties. Crystal Palace didn’t look too shabby against Everton last week either, losing 2-1 thanks to a penalty from Richarlison in the first half that proved to be the game winner for the Merseyside club. The Blues will be without Hakim Ziyech who is still waiting to make his EPL debut, and American star Christian Pulisic will likely be available after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Everton v. Brighton and Hove Albion, 10:00AM ET

Everton -134: 91% of handle, 89% of bets
Tie +270: 2% of handle, 3% of bets
Brighton +390: 7% of handle, 8% of bets

Everton had themselves a great week as they knocked off Crystal Palace in EPL play, followed by a 4-1 win over West Ham in the EFL Cup round of 16. Brighton has never won at Everton, and after back-to-back losses against Man U in the last week, things aren’t looking so well for the side who currently sits in 12th place in the table as they travel to Goodison Park to take on the Toffees. Regardless of that, Brighton have gone unbeaten in their last eight straight away matches in EPL play, with three of the last four ending in victory for the Seagulls. Clearly the public is playing the safe bet with Everton on this one, and it’s not hard to see why.

Leeds United v. Manchester City, 12:30PM ET

Leeds +700: 33% of handle, 16% of bets
Tie +425: 4% of handle, 3% of bets
Man City -275: 63% of handle, 81% of bets

Leeds will be looking to win their third-straight EPL outing as they host Man City this weekend, although Man City loanee Jack Harrison will be unable to face his parent club. Leeds have won three of their last five EPL meetings with Man City, which includes the last two at home. On top of that, Man City will be missing some heavy hitters such as Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, and Ilkay Gundogan who will all be unavailable for varying reasons. Man City is also coming off a 5-2 beating from Leicester City in their last EPL outing. Obviously, the public has seen some promise for Leeds in this matchup that could easily end in a victory for the home side if things go well.

Newcastle United v. Burnley, 3:00PM ET

Newcastle +145: 58% of handle, 63% of bets
Tie +220: 22% of handle, 16% of bets
Burnley +210: 20% of handle, 21% of bets

While the odds slightly favor Newcastle in this matchup, the public seems to be decently split on what the outcome will be. Don’t let that fool you, though: the Magpies are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Burnley, and star Allen Saint-Maximin could make his return this weekend after being sidelined with an ankle injury. Newcastle is coming off a 1-1 draw in EPL play with Spurs, while they followed that up with an EFL Cup win in penalties against Newport County. Burnley is still looking for their first points of the season, dropping both of their first games in losses to Leicester and Southampton. They also made an EFL Cup exit earlier this week with a 3-0 loss to Man City.
