Final injury report
Out: Joe Mixon (foot), Tyler Ervin (wrist), Raheem Mostert (ankle)
Doubtful: None
Questionable: Aaron Jones (calf), Justin Jackson (knee), Jeffery Wilson (calf)
Thursday Injury Report
Darrell Henderson missed practice on Thursday, but since the game is on Monday night, there’s still time for him to get some practice in. Kareem Hunt and Justin Jackson have been limited in practice, so it’s worth keeping an eye on them, but I don’t think we have to be overly concerned. Raheem Mostert hasn’t been put on I.R., but he hasn’t practiced this week and shouldn’t be available. Jeff Wilson, Ja’Mycal Hasty and Jerrick McKinnon will all get chances in his absence.
It will be important to track is the status of Bucs-Raiders. The game was moved out of Sunday Night Football to an afternoon time slot. Concern over a potential need to postpone the game due to Covid-19 caused the move, so there is a chance Josh Jacobs and Ronald Jones could end up being out this week if more positive tests emerge.
Wednesday injury report
This week opens with a Thursday Night Football contest featuring injury replacements on both sides. Boston Scott is replacing Miles Sanders for at least this week, and maybe more depending on the latter’s recovery from a knee injury. Devonta Freeman has taken over starting duties for Saquon Barkley and will likely finish the season as the starter. Joe Mixon is the biggest question heading into the weekend and will be a name to track the remaining two days of practice.
DNP: Joe Mixon (foot)
Limited: Kareem Hunt (ribs)
Full: Leonard Fournette (ankle)
Week 7 brought us the return of King Henry, as he rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns while catching two passes for 52 more yards. Henry had started finding the end zone again, but we hadn’t seen the big plays yet and now we have. Henry has two touchdowns in each of his last three games. He’s back on track for a touchdown per game.
This week was great for Kenyan Drake, who went off against the Cowboys, but still looked pedestrian doing so. I’d trade Drake as fast as possible.
Ronald Jones and D’Andre Swift looked great last week and are both players I’d be very happy to have rostered moving forward.
Injury news
Raheem Mostert is out for 3-4 weeks, which will give Jeff Wilson, Jerick McKinnon and Ja’Mycal Hasty the work this week against the Rams.
Miles Sanders will miss the Thursday game against the Giants. Boston Scott is his main backup and will lead the running back committee in Week 7.
Melvin Gordon will return after missing Week 6 with strep throat. He will get a good matchup with the Chiefs.
Bye weeks
Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins
We won’t have Dalvin Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Mark Ingram or Myles Gaskin to kick around this week. Cook and Ingram both need the bye to get healthy, so they get pretty lucky this week.
Streaming options
Justin Jackson, Chargers
Jackson was the preferred back against the Saints before the Chargers bye week. The situation is fluid, but I expect Jackson to hold the nominal lead at the position and he gets a good matchup with the Jaguars.
D’Andre Swift, Lions
Swift had a big game last week, but was still very much part of a committee. The hope is that he’ll see a big snap share moving forward after his strong Week 6. He is also the preferred third-down back, and the Falcons offense looked worlds better with Julio Jones healthy. They should be able to points up on this Lions defense and that means we could see more receiving work for Swift as well.
