Final injury report
Out: John Brown (knee), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Emmanuel Sanders (Covid-19), Sammy Watkins (hamstring), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle), Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring), Isaiah Wright (shoulder)
Doubtful: None
Questionable: Jamison Crowder (groin), Curtis Samuel (knee), John Ross (illness), K.J. Hill (hip), Julian Edelman (knee), DeAndre Hopkins (ankle)
Thursday injury report
DeAndre Hopkins has yet to practice with an ankle injury, but he doesn’t miss games and I would be surprised if he missed the game vs. division opponent Seattle. Keenan Allen has been limited in practice with a back injury. A full practice on Friday would be nice, but he seems to be trending toward suiting up at the moment. Michael Thomas missed practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury, and is now looking iffy for Sunday against the Panthers. He’ll need to get work in on Friday. Jarvis Landry has a broken rib, but he will continue to play through the injury. The Jets can’t seem to keep their receivers healthy, as Jamison Crowder missed Thursday’s practice with a groin injury. The Jets could get their rookie receiver Denzel Mims onto the field for the first time this week. A.J. Brown missed another Thursday practice after practicing on Wednesday, but little information has come out about his status. He’ll be another player we need to see on Friday. The Bills could be without John Brown, who is dealing with a couple different injuries. Playing the Jets may be a deciding factor in holding him out.
One piece of news that will be important to track is the status of Bucs-Raiders. The game was flexed out of Sunday Night Football to an afternoon start. The reasoning is concern over a potential need to postpone the game due to Covid-19. If that happens, the wide receivers impacted would include Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Scotty Miller for the Bucs and Henry Ruggs, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow for the Raiders.
Wednesday injury report
The big news this week is Diontae Johnson returning to a full practice after missing Week 6 with a back injury. Barring a setback, he would appear to be on track to play this weekend. On the other hand, Marvin Jones is a new addition as a DNP, while Jamison Crowder is a new addition as limited.
DNP: John Brown (knee), Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring), Marvin Jones (knee), Julio Jones (hamstring), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle)
Limited: Jamison Crowder (groin), Breshad Perriman (ankle, knee), Jarvis Landry (hip, ribs), Auden Tate (shoulder), Danny Amendola (foot), Calvin Ridley (elbow), Equanimeous St. Brown (knee), D.J. Chark (ankle), Laviska Shenault (hamstring), Mike Evans (ankle), Chris Godwin (hamstring), Scotty Miller (hip, groin), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Keenan Allen (back)
Full: Braxton Berrios (quadricep), Russell Gage (shoulder), Diontae Johnson (back)
A rookie and a veteran led the way for fantasy wide receivers in Week 6 and they came from the same game. Justin Jefferson and Julio Jones both went off, ranking first and second in wide receiver fantasy points. Just a reminder to always play your receivers against the Falcons. This week the Lions get the privilege.
Will Fuller finished as WR3 last week and has now caught a touchdown in each of his last four games. The injury concerns are real, but so far so good.
A.J. Green didn’t put up a huge game, but he finished as WR15 in PPR with eight receptions for 96 yards. He may just be late career Larry Fitzgerald now, but if he can get those targets, he should have PPR value.
Injury news
Sammy Watkins will remain out this week, but instead of Mecole Hardman taking over, it was Demarcus Robinson, who caught 5-of-6 targets for 69 yards while Tyreek Hill was bottled up by Tre’Davious White and the Chiefs ran the ball more than they usually do. .
Michael Thomas should be completely healthy after missing Week 5 for disciplinary reasons and then getting a bye week. Lock and load him in for their tilt with the Panthers.
Sterling Shepard sounds like he is ready to return, but with a Thursday game, he may not be quite game ready fast enough. He also could play, but be on a snap count against the Eagles.
Diontae Johnson sounds like he is closer to returning from his back injury, as he will practice on Wednesday. At this point I’d like to see him stay healthy before starting him again.
Curtis Samuel missed last week with a knee injury. He seemed to be close to playing, so his chances are probably decent to play against the Saints this week, but he hasn’t shown enough to be a consistent fantasy play.
Corey Davis is off the Covid-19 list and will return against the Steelers in Week 7.
Bye weeks
Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins
Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, T.Y Hilton, Marquise Brown, Devante Parker and Preston Williams will be on the shelf for Week 7. Thielen and Jefferson are both Top-10 fantasy receivers, so they will be sorely missed.
Devante Parker needs the time off to heal up and T.Y. Hilton has fallen off a cliff with Philip Rivers at the helm.
Streaming options
Tim Patrick, Broncos
Patrick has been getting deep targets with consistency and now has back-to-back 100 yard games and two touchdowns in his last three. The Chiefs aren’t an easy team to pass on, but they should push Drew Lock to throw often and Patrick’s targets are high upside.
Mike Williams, Chargers
Williams looked great in his first game back against the Saints, catching 5-of-8 targets for 109 yards and two touchdowns. With big armed Justin Herbert throwing to him, I expect more big plays in his future.
