The Giants got in a cheap shot late and it would appear to have ended DeSean Jackson’s night.

Friday AM update: Jackson is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain and will get an MRI, per Adam Schefter. The team will decide if he needs surgery, but a high ankle sprain means at least a several week absence.

The Philadelphia Eagles are attempting a late comeback against the New York Giants in Week 7, but they’ll have to complete it without wide receiver DeSean Jackson. The playmaker was back deep for a punt returner and injured his leg as he spun around when he took a late hit. Trainers helped him off the field.

Corey Ballentine came in with his helmet lowered and flagged for the hit on Jackson. Another Giants player came in late and that resulted in the twisting of some portion of his leg. Jackson has since been taken to the locker room on a cart.

Jackson finished the game with three receptions for 34 yards and a 12-yard rush. He had two yards on the punt return that resulted in his injury.
