Yes, it can be a real hassle to find a good defense every week. However, if you settle on the right one, it can be a real difference maker. Here are some suggestions for D/ST to start or avoid this week.
D/ST Starts
Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets
The Bills and Jets squared off back in Week 1, and the Buffalo’s D/ST came away with 13 points in that outing. I don’t see much changing this week. Whoever’s playing the Jets, you’re almost guaranteed a double-digit day.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Only four teams have allowed more sacks this season than the Jaguars. Only seven teams have turned over the ball more. They’ve turned the ball over twice in four of their last five games. Both of those things bode well for the Chargers, who are coming out of their bye.
D/ST Sits
Tennessee Titans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
First, the Steelers can score a lot of points. We saw Houston roll up 412 yards and 36 points against the Titans defense last week, so what do you think the Steelers are capable of doing to this unit? Second, Pittsburgh has only turned the ball over four times this season, so the Titans D/ST is going to get points that way. Finally, the Titans defense just doesn’t do much from a fantasy perspective, never topping double digits once this season.
Houston Texans vs. Green Bay Packers
I’d hate to be the Texans defense this week. Sure, it’s easy to look at what the Bucs did to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers last Sunday and think that Houston could copy that. I guess anything is possible, but don’t bet on it. They’ve got to deal with a pissed off Rodgers and a Packers team with something to prove this week. Oh, Houston’s defense also bleeds points to opponents anyway.
