Game day update: ESPN projects Todd Gurley to score 16.2 points in PPR leagues, with Brian Hill finishing at 7.9 points. Atlanta is coming off a big win over Minnesota, but the game script might not be quite as ideal against a Detroit team that is inconsistent but dangerous.
If you thought old Todd Gurley was back after his Week 5 performance against the Carolina Panthers, you were sorely mistaken. In the Falcons win over the Vikings last week he was given a heavier share of the load and didn’t produce a run over nine yards.
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons RB Todd Gurley
Gurley is going against the fourth worst running defense in the league this week. The Lions give up 145 yards per game to opposing running games. If you were waiting for the other shoe to drop, don’t. The Vikings don’t have a great rushing defense either, giving up 127 yards per game and Gurley still only averaged 2.4 yards per carry. Unless you’re ready to risk it for the biscuit, you should sit Gurley. His lack of consistency against mediocre to bad rushing defenses makes him a continued liability. The old Gurley may pop up here and there, but he isn’t here to stay.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Gurley.
