Sunday update: The Bears remain 6 point underdogs on the road against the Rams, and that doesn’t make Montgomery’s outlook any better for the week. The Rams have yet to allow a fantasy RB a 100-rushing yard day, but his touch volume should be safe in an otherwise bumpy landscape for Week 7.
The Bears leaned on RB David Montgomery more heavily than usual in their win over the Panthers last week. That led to moderate success for the running back but didn’t result in any touchdowns. Should you give him a start this week against the Rams on Monday Night Football?
Fantasy Football analysis: Bears RB David Montgomery
Since Week 2, Montgomery hasn’t been able to rack up more than 58 yards on the ground or more than 3.2 yards per carry. His rushing attempts haven’t peaked over 20 and his receiving targets are the only thing keeping him afloat. With only two total touchdowns on the year, you should stay wary of his overall production. With an increase in carries last week and a continued emphasis in the passing game, he’s worth a start. The Bears offense should continue to improve and Montgomery will only benefit from Nick Foles becoming more of a threat.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Montgomery.
