How and what to watch for Baylor vs. Texas

Baylor hasn’t played since Oct. 3 because of Covid-19, how rusty will they be?

The Baylor Bears are finally back at it this week as they head to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET

Baylor has played just two games this season, and had their last game pushed back because of Covid-19 concerns within the program. It’s fair to ask how rusty will they be, and it’s also fair to ask how good are they anyway? The Bears have only one win, and it came against Big 12 bottom-feeder Kansas. Baylor’s rush defense has been suspect, allowing five touchdowns on the ground. Texas has a great offense both running and throwing. The Longhorns average 49.5 points per game and have scored 30+ each time out this season. Texas should be able to expose Baylor’s rebuilding.

The Bears offense has been fine, if unspectacular. The team averages 304 total yards per game, though the sample size is very small. Against the West Virginia Mountaineers, they only totaled 256 yards of offense. The Texas defense isn’t great though, allowing about 400 yards and more than four scores each game.
