Game day update: Justin Jackson is listed as questionable but expected to play, according to Adam Schefter. ESPN projects Jackson at 14.6 points and Joshua Kelley at 11.7 points in PPR leagues. In the Chargers last game prior to the bye, Jackson had 42 snaps to Kelley’s 25. Jackson rushed 15 times and caught five of six targets for 94 total yards. Kelley rushed 11 times and caught his lone target for 38 total yards.

Given the Jacksonville Jaguars have a bottom five rushing defense in the league, you’re probably interested in the Chargers running backs. Yet the Chargers running game hasn’t been great or all that consistent, so what should you do with Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley?

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers RBs Justin Jackson, Joshua Kelley

The Chargers running back situation is difficult to read looking back on the game logs and even more difficult to predict moving forward. In Justin Jackson’s second game back he was the more impressive of the two Chargers backs, rushing for 71 yards on 15 attempts and was targeted six times in the passing game. Kelley only carried the ball for 29 yards on 11 attempts and wasn’t a target in the passing game.

So what does that mean for this week? No idea. Until there’s a level of consistency between the two running backs, the upside just isn’t worth the risk... even against the Jaguars.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Bench both Jackson and Kelley.
