While the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have struggled through the first half of the 2020 season, they have the chance to begin righting the ship Saturday when they host FCS’s Chatanooga Mocs. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. ET at Houchens-Smith Stadium with WatchESPN streaming the proceedings online.

Originally scheduled for Sept. 5, Saturday’s tilt marks Western Kentucky’s first matchup outside the FBS this season. That comes as a welcome reprieve from the Hilltoppers’ difficult early season schedule, a slate that featured matchups with the 4-1 UAB Dragons and the still undefeated Liberty Flames and Marshall Thundering Herd.

But while Chattanooga comes from a lower level of college football, they have enter the game with several factors working in their favor. All but one starting offensive lineman from a season ago returns in 2020. That continuity should help out Drayton Arnold, the presumed starting quarterback who replaces graduated 2019 starter Nick Tiano.

With Western Kentucky struggling out of the gate and Chattanooga playing in its first game, the public splits look a little out of whack. In terms of total points, almost all of the handle (99%) has come on under 54. However, 65% of the bets have gone toward over 54. Elsewhere, the public favors the Hilltoppers, who have drawn 94% of the handle and 77% of the bets for the point spread (Western Kentucky -14) as well as 90% of the handle and 94% of the bets on their moneyline (-910).
