It’s been awhile since the Los Angeles Chargers have had much to be excited about, but since rookie Justin Herbert took over the starting quarterback job, the future looks really bright there. The Oregon product, taken with the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, has also been a helpful addition to the fantasy football landscape. This week, he gets to face the struggling Jaguars, and would not be a bad addition to lineups.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers QB Justin Herbert
While the Chargers have yet to win since Herbert took over, he’s thrown for 1,195 yards, nine touchdowns and just three interceptions. He’s got a 107.1 rating. But what’s been the most refreshing thing about his game is just how willing he is to air out the ball. It’s been a boon for the team’s receivers in fantasy too. He’s coming off a four-touchdown overtime loss to the Saints in Week 5, before the Chargers’ bye.
This week’s opponent, the Jags, are allowing an average of 22 points to opposing passers. Teams can lean on the run against Jacksonville, which limits production levels for opposing passers. However, Ryan Tannehill had four passing touchdowns against them, and Deshaun Watson had three.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Justin Herbert.
