Chris Herndon is still on the New York Jets. His empty Week 6 box score may have you wondering otherwise, but he did play 63 percent of the snaps. He just didn’t do anything. That has kind of been a theme for him this year, a theme which will likely continue against the Bills in Week 7.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets TE Chris Herndon
Herndon looks good in pads and practices, but that has yet to translate to actual football success. His Week 1 showing — six catches on seven targets for 37 yards — is the apex of his season thus far, and it’s not particularly close. He hasn’t reached 25 yards in any other game, and he has seven receptions since the opener. Whether it’s with Joe Flacco or Sam Darnold, Herndon can’t seem to get it going. Maybe he’s hiding an injury or still feeling the effects of his 2019 ailments. Maybe the Jets have no idea how to use him properly. Or maybe he’s just not good. Regardless, there’s no reason to believe Herndon will suddenly turn it around in Week 7, even against a Bills defense that has allowed the second-most touchdowns (six) and the second-most fantasy points per game (21.9) to the tight end position.
