Game status: Sam Darnold is ACTIVE for Week 7.

Game day update: Darnold is expected to play on Sunday barring any setbacks during warmups, per Ian Rapoport.

Barring any unforeseen change of heart, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is set to return to action on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Darnold has been out of action since Week 4 with a shoulder injury. He is still listed as questionable on the official injury report, but head coach Adam Gase said Friday that he expects the third-year quarterback to suit up this weekend.

Fantasy impact: Sam Darnold (shoulder)

Darnold’s return is unlikely to make much of a difference for the hapless Jets, who are 10-point underdogs to the Bills. Through the four games he did play, Darnold was completing less than 60 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and four picks. He should not be in fantasy lineups at all this week.

However, Darnold’s comeback is good news for Jamison Crowder. The Jets are going to have to throw the ball a lot chasing points in this one, and Crowder’s capable of posting solid yardage numbers in these situations. The only catch is that Crowder is also questionable this week.
