3rd quarter update: Wilson scored his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter and then had a defender roll up his left foot. Wilson limped off the field and then took a cart from the sideline to the locker room.
Game status: Wilson is ACTIVE for Week 7.
Game day update: Jeff Wilson is expected to play on Sunday, per Adam Schefter.
San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson, Jr. is officially listed as questionable for this week’s game against the New England Patriots. He’s dealing with a calf injury, the same one that kept him out of action last week against the Rams. Wilson was a limited participant in practice all week.
Fantasy impact: Jeff Wilson, Jr. (calf)
The Niners backfield is already shorthanded, with Raheem Mostert out of action. Without him, the team would likely go with Wilson and Jerick McKinnon seeing most of the work. But if Wilson can’t play, JaMycal Hasty would see his workload increase, especially on first and second downs.
Without Wilson, McKinnon the best fantasy option here. Together, it’s hard to predict exactly how they would split the workload. With or without Wilson, the 49ers running backs have a tall order ahead of them against the Patriots this Sunday. New England’s defense has only allowed running backs to score twice so far this season, and only one player has had a game with more than 100 rushing yards.
