Final injury report
Out: Chris Godwin (finger), Alshon Jeffery (calf), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Julian Edelman (knee), N’Keal Harry (concussion), Marquez Callaway (ankle), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Breshad Perriman (concussion), Sammy Watkins (hamstring), Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
Doubtful: Allen Robinson (concussion), Jamison Crowder (groin), Richie James (ankle), John Ross (illness)
Questionable: Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle), Tim Patrick (hamstring), Cordarrelle Patterson (quadricep)
Thursday injury report
Michael Thomas and Marquez Callaway returned to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday, which is a good sign. But Emmanuel Sanders will remain out with Covid-19.
Allen Robinson didn’t practice Thursday with a concussion and looks like he’ll have trouble being cleared for the Saints game.
Julian Edelman had knee surgery and is out this week. Jakobi Meyers looks like the best pick up in fantasy after he looked good last week, but the Patriots passing attack is devoid of talent overall.
Jalen Reagor reportedly will play his first week back from thumb injury and gets a nice matchup with the Cowboys.
DeVante Parker has been limited with a groin injury, but he’s been limited quite a bit in practices this season and still played. It would be good to see him get a full practice in on Friday though.
Jamison Crowder returned to practice on Thursday, giving himself a chance to return this week against the Chiefs.
Wednesday injury report
The receiver situation isn’t looking great with Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Marquez Callaway all hurting. We’ll see if any of them can get back this week.
The Eagles might get Jalen Reagor back this week, but Alshon Jeffery is still missing practice.
Allen Robinson has a concussion and since it happened on Monday night, he will have a quick turnaround to get through protocol in time for Sunday.
Jamison Crowder looks like he will have trouble playing this week with a groin injury, while Breshad Perriman will need to pass through concussion protocol.
DNP: Alshon Jeffery (calf), N’Keal Harry (concussion), Marquez Callaway (ankle), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Cordarrelle Patterson (quadricep), Allen Robinson (concussion), Jamison Crowder (groin), Breshad Perriman (concussion), Diontae Johnson (toe), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), Deebo Samuel (hamstring), Richie James (ankle)
Limited: Russell Gage (knee), Julio Jones (hip), Bryan Edwards (foot, ankle), Jarvis Landry (hip, ribs), DeVante Parker (groin), Equanimeous St. Brown (knee), Julian Edelman (knee)
Full: Adam Thielen (shoulder), John Brown (knee), John Ross (illness)
Week 7 was dominated by two receivers, Tyler Lockett had a whopping 53 PPR points and Davante Adams had 44.6. Lockett caught 15 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns while Adams caught 13 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Those are some week winning fantasy numbers to be sure.
The Steelers Diontae Johnson remained Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite target despite his injury troubles this season. He saw 15 targets, catching nine for 80 yards and two touchdowns. He’s now played in three full games and caught 23 of 38 targets for 227 yards and three touchdowns. For a player you likely got later in drafts, he’s been an asset despite missing three games with injuries.
D.J. Moore had a breakout, as he caught four passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns, but unfortunately he had just five targets. Despite his inconsistent target numbers this season, Moore has been efficient on his receptions, as he has 18.3 yards per. And this week he gets the Falcons pass defense.
Injury news
Odell Beckham Jr. is out for the season with an ACL tear, which should give Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones an uptick in targets moving forward.
Chris Godwin fractured his left index finger and will miss Monday night’s game against the Giants. Mike Evans should return to being heavily involved while Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson and Rob Gronkowski should all have some fantasy value.
Deebo Samuel is expected to miss a couple weeks with a hamstring injury. Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Taylor should see the biggest bump in a good matchup against the Seahawks.
DeSean Jackson lands on I.R., which should help Travis Fulgham continue to see big targets in a good matchup against Dallas. We’ll have to wait to see where Alshon Jeffery and Jalen Reagor are this week.
Breshad Perriman is in concussion protocol and will need to be cleared before they face the Chiefs. Jamison Crowder is hurting with a groin injury and was downgraded to doubtful after being questionable last week. We’ll see this week if he had a setback or if he just wasn’t quite ready. Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios would see the biggest bumps in work if they both missed.
Tim Patrick is day-to-day with a hamstring injury. He’ll need to practice at some point this week to be ready for their date with the Chargers. Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant, if healthy, would benefit the most in his absence.
Bye weeks
Washington Football Team, Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars
No Terry McLaurin, DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks or one of the many Jaguars receivers who can have a strong fantasy day depending on the day, will be napping this Sunday.
Streaming options
A.J. Green, Bengals
After looking absolutely washed to start the season, Green has turned things around over the last two weeks. He’s topped 15 fantasy points in each of those games and caught 15-of-24 targets for 178 yards. The targets and receptions are there, but the red zone targets aren’t. That’s okay as long as he keeps getting such a big workload though and they will likely be trailing the Titans this week.
Rashard Higgins, Browns
The Browns lost Odell Beckham Jr.early last week and Higgins stepped up with a big game, catching all six of his targets for 110 yards. The two games before that he was able to connect with Baker Mayfield on a touchdown in each. With Austin Hooper possibly out still, Jarvis Landry continuing to play with a broken rib, and the Raiders defense below average at best, he’s a strong play this week.
