Everything you need to know about the DraftKings-MLE Halloween candy steeplechase

Competitive eating has three new competitions, starting with candy on Halloween!

Halloween is fast approaching! It won’t be quite the same this year, but there are still going to be opportunities to enjoy ourselves on All Hallows Eve. Even if you can’t get out for a night on the town, you can still eat plenty of candy!

Speaking of candy, there’s going to be an opportunity to watch professional stuff their faces with candy. DraftKings and Major League Eating announced a three-part holiday eating competition featuring the biggest names in the sport. It starts with a Halloween candy steeplechase on October 31st, continues with a complete Thanksgiving meal with a whole roasted turkey scheduled for the Thanksgiving holiday, and concludes with a contest featuring a Super Bowl party spread planned for February 6th. All three events will take place in Las Vegas, overlooking the fountains of the Bellagio Hotel.

The event opens on Halloween with a six-candy competition featuring Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo, Geoffrey Esper, Darron Breeden, Matt Stonie, and Nick Wehry. Below is a full rundown of the Halloween night competition.

How to watch

The contest starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on Halloween, Saturday, October 31st. It will be aired via live stream at DraftKings’ YouTube page and Twitch page.

Contest rules

The contest is a steeplechase-style event with six types of candy. Competitors will have six minutes to go through one-pound servings of each of the candies. The winner is the first to finish, or whomever eats the most of the following in this order (Second place is second to finish, or whomever eats the second most; etc.):

  1. Candy corn
  2. Kit Kats
  3. M&Ms
  4. Milk Ways
  5. Snickers
  6. Mini Reese’s

Free pool

DraftKings Sportsbook has created a free-to-play pool around this event. You provide predictions to eight questions and whomever gets the most questions correct wins. There is a $10,000 total prize pool with first place taking home $500. Here are the questions
