Friday update: Phillip Lindsay is questionable with a concussion, per the injury report. He will play as long as he passes through concussion protocol by Sunday and it appears he is close to doing so.
Thursday update: Phillip Lindsay is in pads and practicing on Thursday, per Mike Klis. This likely means that his progress through concussion protocol is going well, but not that he has been cleared. No matter how you slice it, this is a good step for his availability this week.
Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay suffered a concussion in Week 7 and will miss the first practice of the week, per 9News’ Mike Klis. The Broncos face the Chargers on Sunday and Lindsay will need to go through concussion protocol and be cleared before then.
Lindsay was having a great day against the Chiefs before suffering his brain injury, as he had nine rushing attempts for 79 yards as he made chunk plays the norm. Lindsay had recently returned from a foot injury that kept him out Week’s 2 through 5. He has looked better than Melvin Gordon, but both have had positive output this season.
If Lindsay can’t play, Gordon will get the bulk of the running back snaps against a Chargers run defense that has been average at best. He will be a must start in fantasy football, but if Lindsay does play, expect another split in work, with both players having value.
