What to do with Teddy Bridgewater in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over Teddy Bridgewater’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Panthers Week 8 matchup against the Falcons on TNF.

Teddy Bridgewater may not be lighting the NFL on fire as the Carolina Panthers’ starting quarterback, but considering how close his career came to ending just a few years ago due to a horrible knee injury, this season has been quite a testament to Bridgewater’s work ethic. Beyond just getting back into the league, he has looked like a very serviceable starter for the Panthers and deserving of the three-year contract he signed this past March. In Week 8, he’ll face a defense against whom he had one of the best games of his season just a few weeks ago.

Fantasy Football analysis: Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater

Back in Week 5, Bridgewater posted 313 yards, two scores, no turnovers and 23.8 DraftKings points versus the Atlanta Falcons. That sits as Bridgewater’s second-best fantasy day of 2020, but it was actually below average compared to what other QBs have done to the Falcons. Atlanta leads the league in passing yards allowed (2,411), passing touchdowns allowed (19) and fantasy points allowed per game to quarterbacks (31.0). Bridgewater has yet to throw more than two touchdowns in a game, but perhaps this is the week.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

If you are a Kyler Murray or Deshaun Watson owner, Bridgewater is a safe bye-week replacement option. His DraftKings price is up to a season-high $6,300.
