Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee missed his team’s Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears because of a hand contusion and is still dealing with pain from the injury. He didn’t participate in his team’s Thursday walkthrough and is considered day-to-day ahead of a Week 8 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Higbee is one of the better tight ends in the NFL and has one of the highest catch rates (85.7 percent) at his position. Los Angeles has a plenty of talented options behind him though capable of making up for replacing his production. Backups Gerald Everett and Johnny Mundt showcased what they’re capable of in last week’s Monday Night Football matchup.
Everett caught four passes for 58 yards and a score when he filled in for Higbee earlier this week while Mundt caught three passes for 48 yards. Both players will be utilized if Higbee isn’t in condition to play on Sunday. Everett is likely to be more productive though. He’s tallied 15 receptions for 196 yards this season.
