In a welterweight bout for UFC Fight Night 4 live from Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+, Carlos Condit will take on Court McGee on the preliminary card this Saturday, October 3.
McGee will enter the fight as the slight favorite. With a 20-9 record and 8-8 in the UFC, McGee has won one UFC fight since 2017, losing four in that time.
The 35-year-old is clearly on the back half of his career, but he’s still a fully competent opponent and can strike (4.86 per minute) and grapple (1.71 takedowns per 15 minutes). He’ll be a tough matchup for Condit, who is 30-13 in his MMA career.
Having fought for the title four years ago and being a former interim champion, Condit has the resume, but he hasn’t won in his last five matches. A strike-heavy fighter, Condit throws 3.56 significant strikes per minute and takes 2.34, deflecting 57 percent of them. He certainly has the better resume, but the 36-year-old may struggle to keep up, being submitted in the second round of his last two fights.
