The EPL has a big day ahead as they boast six matches on Sunday, October 4 for a full slate. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal will all be in action so let’s look ahead at the splits and some highlights of the upcoming matches.
Arsenal v. Sheffield United, 9:00AM ET
Arsenal -186: 92% of handle, 96% of bets
Tie +300: 1% of handle, 1% of bets
Sheffield United +550: 7% of handle, 3% of bets
On paper, this match looks like a no-brainer as fifth-place Arsenal play host to the winless 19th-place Sheffield United. The Blades have lost the first three matches of their season so far and will be looking to bank their first points of the campaign, but the Gunners are in good form despite taking their first EPL loss against Liverpool last week in a 3-1 defeat. However, they turned around and knocked Liverpool out of the EFL Cup just a few days later as they came out on top in penalties. Alexandre Lacazette will look to score in his fourth-straight EPL match against the struggling Sheffield side. The splits line up perfectly with the odds as the public have overwhelmingly chosen Arsenal as the winner of this match.
Man U -110: 25% of handle, 41% of bets
Tie +265: 6% of handle, 11% of bets
Tottenham +300: 69% of handle, 48% of bets
In what is surely to be a headlining match of the day, the two EPL titans will go at it and Tottenham will hope to capitalize on Man Utd’s struggling form. United currently sit in 14th place in the table, winning only one of their first three contests while dropping results to both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. 8th-place Tottenham have lost, won, and tied their first three EPL games, most recently earning a point against Newcastle as the Magpies found the equalizer in the 7th minute of stoppage time last week. Spurs bested Chelsea in the EFL Cup earlier this week in penalties, and will look to make a jump in the table with a win over Manchester United this weekend. The best are relatively evenly split between the two sides, as this one could easily go either way.
Aston Villa v. Liverpool, 2:15PM ET
Aston Villa +900: 8% of handle, 3% of bets
Tie +440: 0% of handle, 1% of bets
Liverpool -315: 91% of handle, 96% of bets
It’s a battle near the top of the table as 2nd-place Liverpool travels to Villa Park to take on 4th-place Aston Villa. Both sides have won all their matches to start the season, although Villa has only played two. If Villa can pull off a win against last season’s EPL champions, it will be the first time they’ve won three straight league matches in over 10 years. Ross Barkley will look to make his debut after joining Villa on loan from Chelsea earlier in the week. On Liverpool’s side, however, Jordan Henderson eyes his return after being sidelined with an injury. Liverpool is coming off a penalty shootout defeat in the EFL Cup against Arsenal earlier in the week and will look to win their fourth-straight match of the season, and it looks as though the public overwhelmingly agrees that’s what will happen.
With three more games on the slate, here are the splits for the rest of Sunday in EPL action.
Leicester City v. West Ham, 7:00AM ET
Leicester -150: 94% of handle, 91% of bets
Tie +310: 1% of handle, 4% of bets
West Ham +400: 5% of handle, 5% of bets
Southampton -134: 83% of handle, 63% of bets
Tie +285: 4% of handle, 14% of bets
West Brom +360: 14% of handle, 24% of bets
Wolverhampton v. Fulham, 9:00AM ET
Wolves -205: 86% of handle, 94% of bets
Tie +310: 1% of handle, 1% of bets
Fulham +650: 13% of handle, 5% of bets
