What to do with Giovani Bernard in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over Giovani Bernard’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Bengals Week 8 matchup against the Titans.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard (25) stretches into the end zone after a catch for a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 7 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns at Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020.  Sam Greene via Imagn Content Services, LLC

The Cincinnati Bengals will have to lean on Giovani Bernard heavily for a second straight week at running back, as Joe Mixon is set to miss another game with a foot injury. The backup scored against the Browns in Week 8 and should be heavily involved against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals RB Giovani Bernard

Bernard tallied 96 yards from scrimmage on his first start of the season. He only tallied 37 rushing yards on 13 carries but also caught five passes for 59 yards in Week 7. Samaje Perine is the only other running back who got a touch, and he only logged one carry for three yard. If Bernard continues to get such a hefty amount of work it’ll be hard to pass on him.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Bernard’s doesn’t have much rushing upside but his ability as a pass catcher makes him a viable start in season-long leagues and DFS.
