Sunday update: Weather remains a concern for the Cleveland passing game today as the city’s set for a Gale Warning, with wind gusts of up to 29 mph. If either the Browns or the Raiders are planning on scoring points in this outing, it will most likely be on the ground. Jarvis Landry has the best chance at relevancy in this contest in PPR leagues, however, as a reliable possession receiver for Baker Mayfield. ESPN has Rashard Higgins projected at just 7.3 points on the day.
Odell Beckham’s season-ending injury early in last week’s game against the Bengals has reshuffled the Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver depth chart. While Beckham was a must-start player every week, the question for fantasy purposes is how the workload will be distributed between Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins.
Fantasy Football analysis: Browns WRs Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins
It was Higgins who immediately took over for Beckham, and quickly playing himself into being Baker Mayfield’s most reliable target. He caught all six passes thrown his way, totaling 110 yards. Meanwhile, Landry did not see a meaningful uptick in his workload with Beckham on the sideline. He caught five of six targets for just 48 yards. He’s only topped 70 receiving yards once this season.
Will the distribution patterns look different against the Raiders? Perhaps. But for fantasy purposes, Higgins goes into the this week’s game with the most value. Landry may still see more passes, but it’s hard to count on that just yet.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Rashard Higgins. Sit Jarvis Landry.
