In a middleweight bout that will serve as the main event for UFC Las Vegas 12, #10 Uriah Hall will take on Anderson Silva in a five-round fight live from Las Vegas, Nevada and available on ESPN+.
Hall will enter with a 16-9 MMA record. Having fought and lost to #2 Paulo Costa, #1 Robert Whittaker and #7 Derek Brunson, Hall has just three UFC wins since 2016. He’s 8-7 in the promotion, and has yet to fight in 2020. The 6-foot, 155 lbs. has a 79-inch reach, and typically relies on his striking.
Averaging 3.31 significant blows per minute, six of Hall’s eight wins in the UFC have been via knockout. Connecting on 50 percent of his attempts, Hall absorbs 3.57 strikes per minute and defends 53 percent of his opponent’s strikes. He also averages .75 takedowns per 15 minutes, so he’s not scared to grapple either.
He’ll need to be ready as he enters the ring with a legend in Anderson Silva. “The Spider” has one of the most decorated resumes in UFC history, entering on a two-match losing streak via two losses in 2019. He made his UFC debut over 20 years ago, and is a multi-time world champion.
But he’s also 45. His last win was over Derek Brunson in February 2017. It should be noted that he lasted a full 15 with current world champion Israel Adesanya, something only a handful of fighters have done. Silva averages 3.04 significant strikes per minute on 62 percent accuracy over his career, and has absorbed 1.98 while defending 61 percent.
He’s far from his prime but on his name alone, he is a fighter to be feared. With the legend opening as an underdog, this will be a must-watch fight.
