Game day updates: In the absence of Odell Beckham Jr. and Austin Hooper, there should be plenty of opportunities for these tight ends to get involved. The weather has been a concern, particularly wind gusts, so it’s possible we see Baker Mayfield look to his big-bodied tight ends as a safety net. ESPN projects rookie Harrison for more fantasy points in this outing.
The Cleveland Browns have a rather talented tight end room. While Austin Hooper has been ruled out for Week 8’s game, opportunities abound for David Njoku and Harrison Bryant.
What should fantasy players do with the Browns tight end position? Let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Browns TEs David Njoku, Harrison Bryant
Hooper missed last week’s game as well after getting his appendix removed, so we’ve already seen what the offense looks like without him — though it’s a small sample size. In Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bryant caught four of five targets for 56 yards with two touchdowns. Njoku was targeted three times and caught two passes for 20 yards with a touchdown.
Looking ahead to the Week 8, Cleveland will play the Las Vegas Raiders, which are coming off a 45-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tight end Rob Gronkowski put together a nice performance with five receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Bryant is a tight end No. 2 this weekend with Njoku right behind him.
