How to handle Chris Godwin’s injury in Week 8 fantasy football

Chris Godwin is on the Bucs final injury report for Week 8. We break down what it means for fantasy football roster decisions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not have wide receiver Chris Godwin in action this week for their Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. He broke his left index finger last week against the Raiders, and is still wearing a cast after having surgery to fix it.

Fantasy impact: Chris Godwin (finger injury)

Godwin could return next week, but we’ll have to wait and see on that. In terms of fantasy football considerations, wide receiver Mike Evans will see an even larger share of the workload. While Evans hasn’t seen the volume of targets has in the past, he still has six receiving touchdowns, tops on the team. Scott Miller is also a good play, he’s coming off a six-catch, 109-yard, one-touchdown outing against the Raiders last week.

Of course, since they’re playing the Giants this week, Tampa Bay’s running backs might be your best bet for fantasy points.
