What to do with David Montgomery, Cordarrelle Patterson in Week 4 fantasy football

What are the prospects for Montgomery and Patterson this week as the Bears look to improve to 4-0?

NFL: Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The two major happenings for the undefeated Chicago Bears in their 30-26 comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday was Nick Foles officially ripping the starting quarterback job from Mitchell Trubisky and Tarik Cohen tearing his ACL, promptly ending his season.

How will this affect the production of ground threats David Montgomery and Corarrelle Patterson as they welcome the Colts to Soldier Field this Sunday?

Fantasy Football analysis: Bears RBs David Montgomery, Cordarrelle Patterson

Even with a healthy Cohen, Montgomery was still carrying a huge chunk of the load for the Bears’ offense through the first three weeks. Getting in on roughly 52 percent of offensive snaps, he has compiled 191 rushing yards on a team-high 43 carries. However, he’s yet to find the endzone this season and only has one rushing play of 20+ yards or more.

Meanwhile, the Swiss army knife that is Patterson has been used sporadically within the Chicago attack so far, showing only 15 carries and three targets in the passing game through three outings.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Montgomery might be a flex option in a season-long league but aside from that, avoid both guys this week as the Bears will be going up against a stingy Colts defense that is yielding just four yards per carry.
