What to do with Tom Brady in Week 4 fantasy football

The six-time Super Bowl champ is finding a rhythm with his new team but the loss of Chris Godwin looms over the Bucs’ home matchup with the Chargers.

After a rough season opener, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is starting to get comfortable in his new surroundings, helping the Bucs rattle off back-to-back victories that have put them atop the NFC South standings.

The GOAT and his teammates will to keep that momentum rolling this week when hosting the Chargers at Raymond James Stadium this Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs QB Tom Brady

Brady spread the ball around in Tampa’s 28-10 victory over a depleted Denver last Sunday, with seven different receivers getting at least four targets throughout the contest. As a result, Brady had his best game in pewter and red so far, throwing for just a hair shy of 300 yards and three touchdowns while completing 7.8 yards per attempt.

This week however, he will be without All-Pro receiver and favorite target Chris Godwin, who will be sidelined this week with a hamstring injury. That obviously opens the door for more opportunities for Mike Evans, Scotty Miller and O.J. Howard.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

While the six-time Super Bowl champion and his new squad are finding a groove, the loss of Godwin for the next few weeks is a huge loss and the Bucs will be matched with a Chargers pass defense that is giving up only 6.6 yards per attempt.

Unless in a deep season-long league, I’d hold off on Brady for at least this week.
